Previously, patent applicants can file one Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to cover its members: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, which is cost-effective if you are planning to enter these member countries.

As of January 6th, 2021, the GCC Patent Office has stopped accepting the filing of new patent applications through GCC. Any patent applicants who want to enter these countries have to file the patent individually into those countries through the Paris Convention or PCT.
